The passwd method was missing the 'db_pass_update' parameter. - This is an optional parameter allows for the MySQL password to stay the same, while the system, ftp, mail and frontpage passwords get changed. - It defaults to 1 (which means change mysql password as well). If the user passes 0, the MySQL password will not be changed. - Docs: http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/SoftwareDevelopmentKit/ChangePassword
