Summary

I would love to see the aim_automelee dvars get implemented so that they can be changed. It would allow for some more adjustability for certain gamemodes/custom gamemodes.

what im most interested in is disabling the lunge to mimic the cod4 promod kind of knifing mechanics.

Why?

It doesn't necessarily solve anything but It would be a amazing feature to see in the game. It would allow for some more interesting mechanics in a lot of gamemodes, for example the old promod mod that was released for mw3, i would love to be able to use it on our freezetag server and deathrun. and it could maybe see some use in infected too. just make sure to have it as a "server dvar" cause on iw4 the client can modify these and use it to "cheat" with really long knife range or lunge.

i believe these are the dvars. from what i know they are functional in mw2 and can be tested there to see how the functionality works.

I dont know if theres some leftover code from mw2 but i think these would do the trick.
